Job Description

Are you a physically strong, hardworking individual with a reliable nature and a passion for contributing to your community? Tōtara Hospice is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver (Class 1) to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our mission of providing exceptional palliative care by ensuring the timely and efficient collection and delivery of donations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate and maintain the donation pickup truck in partnership with your Driver colleague
  • Collect and transport donated items to our hospice and retail locations
  • Provide excellent customer service, particularly when collecting donations directly from donors' homes
  • Collaborate with the Takanini Manager and Retail Managers to optimize daily logistics and operations

You will work closely with your supportive and experienced Driver colleague ensuring seamless coordination throughout the day.

A clean, valid driver’s licence and legal right to work in New Zealand are required. Since the truck is classified as a Class 1 vehicle, a standard driver’s licence is sufficient to operate it.
