Job Description

Te Mahi/The Role…

As a Physiotherapist at TH, you will provide palliative care rehabilitation with the aim to improve quality of life for patients living with a life limiting illnesses. Examples of duties (not limited to):

  • Manage a clinical caseload; collaborate and work in partnership with the wider TH clinical team to develop and deliver comprehensive care plans to our patients and their whānau
  • Provide support and care for patients and whānau in our IPU, Te Puna Ora o Tōtara (Living Well) Centre and within their homes
  • Contribute towards palliative rehabilitation to prevent, manage, support physical changes and functional change for palliative patients
  • Develop and maintain networks within the community to enhance services for patients and whānau
  • Facilitate Moving and Handling competence for TH staff, both clinical and non-clinical

Te Tangata/The Person…

  • Tertiary qualification recognised by the NZ Physiotherapy Board
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence is essential
  • Experience in completing full, comprehensive assessments
  • Palliative Care, cancer and chronic long-term conditions experience is desired
