Te Mahi

Our nursing team collaborates with the wider Multidisciplinary Team to provide exceptional palliative care in South and Southeast Auckland. Specializing in palliative care excellence, we serve patients in Tōtara Hub and within the community, including patient homes and aged residential care. You will play a crucial role in providing holistic care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. You will be responsible for assessing patients needs, develop care plans and provide  compassionate support to the patients and their whānau. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating a holistic perspective in the care of patients and families/whānau and identify the patients concerns over and above the immediate/obvious presenting issue
  • Demonstrating collegiality within the team and work as an effective team member through valuing and respecting colleagues
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribe

This is a permanent full-time position with the flexibility of working between 0.8-1.0 FTE. You will be someone who enjoys working in a team environment, have great attention to details and an effective communicator. 

What do we need to see from you?

  • Must have NZ working experience as a nurse
  • A current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Available Monday through to Sunday. We are flexible to talk about the FTE you are looking for
  • If applying for IPU, you must be able to commit to all shifts on a 24/7 roster
  • Full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence – required when working within the community as we have pool cars used by staff on visits.
  • Experience in completing comprehensive assessments
  • Palliative care/chronic long-term conditions experience is desired but not essential
  • Full New Zealand working right
