Te Mahi | The Role
As a Casual Registered Nurse, you’ll pick up shifts that suit your lifestyle while delivering high‑quality, compassionate palliative care. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team providing support to patients and whānau during some of life’s most important moments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering pain and symptom management to ensure patient dignity and comfort
- Administering medications, infusions, oxygen therapy and other symptom‑relief measures
- Collaborating with allied health colleagues on holistic care plans
- Supporting and educating patients and whānau on symptom management and care needs
- Documenting assessments and interventions accurately in MedTech & MediMap
- Responding to changes in condition and escalating care appropriately
- Upholding safe clinical practice, infection control, and medication safety standards
- Engaging in ongoing professional development

Ngā pūkenga e hiahiatia/What We’re Looking
We’re seeking a compassionate, adaptable Registered Nurse — someone who brings heart, curiosity and professionalism to their work. Ideally, you’ll have experience in:
- Oncology
- Haematology
- Palliative care
- Or chronic/long‑term condition management
To be considered, you’ll need:
- A current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate
- Flexibility to work across mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends
- A full, clean NZ driver’s licence (for community shifts — pool cars provided)
- Experience completing comprehensive assessments
- Palliative care experience is desirable but not essential — full support and orientation provided
