Te Mahi | The Role
As a Casual Hospitality & Catering Assistant, you’ll primarily support kitchen operations, preparing and serving meals for patients and their whānau with care, dignity, and attention to detail. You’ll also assist in Aroha Eatery during busy periods and help with weekend and event preparation, working alongside staff and volunteers to maintain high standards of food safety, presentation, and service.
This role involves supporting cultural and dietary requirements, general kitchen duties, and helping ensure a welcoming environment across our hospitality services. Shifts will be offered based on operational needs.

We’re looking for a reliable, flexible team player who enjoys pitching in and supporting others. This environment suits someone who is adaptable, practical, and positive, with good energy and a willingness to learn.
You’ll also bring:
- Basic computer literacy
- An understanding of health and safety and food hygiene practices
- Previous experience in hospitality or healthcare (desirable, but not essential)
- A strong sense of professionalism, reliability, and teamwork
A comprehensive orientation will be provided to ensure you feel confident and supported.
